Paisley Consulting Appoints Bruce McCuaig as Chief Risk Officer

Paisley Consulting, the leading provider of governance, risk and compliance ( GRC ) software solutions, today announced the appointment of Bruce McCuaig as chief risk officer (CRO). McCuaig, previously principal consultant at Paisley Consulting, has taken on an expanded role at the company to further enhance its leadership position in the governance, risk and compliance industry.
In his new role, McCuaig will be responsible for directing an operational risk management ( ORM ) program at Paisley Consulting as part of a company-wide effort to implement a top-down, risk-based approach to its own operations. The goal of the ORM program at Paisley Consulting is to improve business processes, and to test and refine effective risk management implementation practices and tools. In his consulting role, McCuaig will share the company's ORM experiences and innovations with clients seeking to implement risk-based approaches for their GRC initiatives and to drive improvements in their existing risk management processes.

Prior to becoming CRO, McCuaig was responsible for delivering Paisley Consulting's proprietary Collaborative Assurance & Risk Design™ training and consulting services. In this role, he was instrumental in positioning the company as a knowledge leader in enterprise governance and risk management solutions. Prior to joining Paisley Consulting, McCuaig held senior executive positions with the Gulf Canada Resources in Calgary and Toronto, and Gulf Oil Corporation in Houston, Texas. While at Gulf, Bruce led in the implementation of the company's pioneering Control and Risk Self Assessment (CRSA) initiative.
McCuaig is an experienced speaker, presenter and award-winning author, participating regularly in international conferences on the subject of risk and control self-assessment and publishing in professional audit and financial journals. He is a member of the Ontario and Alberta Institutes of Chartered Accountants and holds both a Certified Internal Auditor® and Certification in Control Self-Assessment designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors. McCuaig earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario.
