Issued by the Army Small Computer Program, the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Hardware (ITES-2H) contract called for servers, storage and other related components for IT infrastructure and server consolidation throughout the Army. As a result of the win, the ITES-2H contract now allows the Navy, Air Force, Department of Defense components and other federal agencies to purchase thin client solutions from ClearCube partners CDW-G and Apptis.
"CDW-G and Apptis have both been ClearCube partners for more than two years, providing federal customers with a comprehensive suite of products and services that enables them to reduce IT costs and more efficiently complete daily tasks," said Greg Witt, federal vice president at ClearCube Technology. "ClearCube is proud to join its partners in providing the U.S. Army with centralized computing solutions proven to decrease security risks and eliminate downtime. With our partners' unmatched experience and expertise, ClearCube is providing the federal market sector with solutions that ensure end users always have the power required to conduct their jobs productively."
With ClearCube centralized computing solutions, CDW-G and Apptis can meet the Army's need for enhanced security, increased uptime and improved IT management by centrally locating traditional desktop computing resources in the data center. The ClearCube centralized computing environment is characterized by hardened physical and data security, space savings at the deployment site, 99.9 percent availability for mission-critical applications and remote computer management and repair.
The overall ITES-2H contract is valued at an estimated $5 billion over a period of five years. The Army ultimately accepted bids from three large and three small businesses. CDW-G was chosen as a large business provider and Apptis as a small business provider.
