Ericsson delivers very-high-speed broadband to PHP in Finland

Ericsson has delivered its EDA VDSL2 solution to Finnish regional telephone company PHP (Päijät-Hämeen Puhelin). The deal, under which the system will become operational in March 2007, will enable PHP to offer its broadband customers triple-play services combining IPTV with voice and data in a versatile package.

Based on Ethernet architecture, Ericsson's EDA VDSL2 (Very-high-bit-rate DSL) is a new-generation broadband solution that provides access speeds of up to 100Mbps over existing copper networks. This simplifies network structures and, in addition to unparalleled broadband speeds, also means enhanced cost-efficiency for operators.
