Thomson to Unveil NexGuard(TM) for Microsoft Windows Media(R) Video 9 at NAB 2007
Market Wire, March, 2007
Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE: TMS) today announced it is introducing the NexGuard(TM) forensic marking solution for Microsoft Windows Media® Video 9 (WMV 9), the first and only solution for the codec on the market. The NexGuard WMV 9 suite of tools is a comprehensive software package for deterring piracy of WMV 9 main profile-formatted files.
NexGuard for WMV 9 will be demonstrated at NAB 2007 and will be available summer 2007 for license by technology, networking and hardware manufacturers, or for purchase as a turnkey hardware and software solution by studios, broadcast and network operators.
"Thomson is dedicated to developing anti-piracy solutions that enable content owners and distributors to further embrace digital delivery," said Jean-Luc Moullet, VP of the Software & Technology Solutions business unit, part of the Thomson Technology division. "With this addition to the NexGuard suite of tools, our clients have an easy and effective solution for forensic tracking of content encoded in the Windows Media 9 format in both B2B and consumer environments."
NexGuard for WMV 9 integrates easily into the workflow for producing files with the Microsoft codec, a format used for numerous content-related objectives including: approvals by producers within the postproduction environment; preview by broadcasters prior to acquisition; and repurposing and transferring for Internet and mobile distribution. It is also used by technology and networking companies for delivering files to consumers via the Internet.
NexGuard for WMV 9 will be demonstrated at NAB2007 (Las Vegas - 14 to 19 April 2007) at Thomson's Security & Technology Solutions booth N713, North Hall.
