Astaro to Offer Novell Security Manager Resellers Free Appliance

Astaro today announced an initiative to recruit Novell Resellers to partner with Astaro and join its worldwide network of 1,015 partners. Astaro Corporation, a Novell Market Start partner, is a leading provider of Unified Threat Management security solutions.

For those Novell Security Manager Resellers looking to continue offering unified threat management (UTM) security gateways, Astaro is offering a free copy of their UTM appliance to Novell Resellers who become certified by Astaro.

The free-trial promotion goes beyond the standard "try before you buy" offer, since once resellers are certified by Astaro, they are free to keep the Astaro UTM appliance.

"Astaro offers enterprise-class, Unified Threat Management appliances that help customers protect networks, filter web access, and secure email communications," said Jan Hichert, Astaro CEO. "To assist Novell resellers, Astaro will give away its award-winning UTM to any partner who receives Astaro partner certification."

Installed at more than 30,000 networks in 60 countries, the Astaro Security Gateway provides users protection against a wide range of threats including malware, viruses, hacking, spam, spyware, and phishing. The Gateway can also prevent inappropriate, or unproductive content from entering the workplace, and acts as an SMTP and VPN gateway. The family of ASGs range in support from small to large enterprises.

Astaro's reseller program offers various certification levels: Premier, Preferred, and Authorized.

Once the Novell Security Manager partner is certified as an "Astaro Premier Partner," the reseller will receive the ASG 320, a device valued at $5750. "Preferred Partners" will receive the ASG 220 (SRP: $2550), and "Authorized Partners" will receive the ASG 120 (SRP: $1195).

Partner Program Tiers

Astaro's channel program offers three tiers of incentives based on projected sales volume:

--  Premier Partner Program offers 40% discount and Priority Support and
    qualified lead forwarding.
--  Preferred Partner Program offers 30% discount and enhanced Support and
    qualified lead forwarding;
--  Authorized Partner Program offers 20% discount;
    

Special programs are available for partners servicing the education and non-profit sector.

Conditions

The Astaro offer applies to new partners only and expires April 30, 2007. Astaro maintains ownership of the ASG unit until partnership certification is completed.
