TCS Triples Short Message Service Center Capacity for Asia-Pacific Region Operator

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless data solutions, today announced the delivery of expanded Short Message Service Center (SMSC) functionality which tripled capacity to an existing Asian-Pacific operator customer.

The company currently has more than 30 worldwide messaging deployments and was the first to deploy an SMSC that simultaneously supported Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) protocols. In addition, TCS' smsExpress(TM) application suite supports mobile broadband delivery of text messages over Internet Protocol (IP)-based Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) networks.
