IBM and APC-MGE Develop Leasing Program for Customers to Acquire Energy-Efficient Power Solutions
Market Wire, March, 2007
IBM Global Financing (IGF), the global financing and leasing business segment for IBM (NYSE: IBM), has partnered with APC- MGE to provide a comprehensive leasing offering for customers of APC-MGE's energy-efficient power and cooling, and IT management solutions, including its innovative InfraStruXure® architecture for data centers.
APC-MGE was recently selected by IBM to be a technology provider for its new IBM Scalable Modular Data Center service product, a new solution that will help customers design and build an energy-efficient data center that can grow with the needs of the business. This IGF/APC-MGE financing offering would help large and small companies alike quickly access the working capital needed to deploy a pre-engineered 500 or 1,000 square foot data center in nearly any working environment, utilizing IBM Site and Facilities Services' capabilities and APC-MGE's InfraStruXure data center architecture.
"This new IGF leasing program will help APC-MGE's customers of all sizes acquire the energy-efficient IT power systems and management services they need to optimize energy use," said Mark Young, vice president, IGF Vendor Financing Programs. "The program also addresses power system disposal at the end of their useful life. The IGF offering comes with a built-in, end-of-lease disposal service that is compliant with environmental regulations. It is a key competitive differentiation for APC-MGE as they go-to-market."
Scott & White, the largest multi-specialty hospital practice in Texas, has already signed on to the IGF/APC-MGE program. The hospital, which for the third straight year was named one of the Solucient 100 Top Hospitals in the country, has acquired APC-MGE technology through the program to further its innovation and growth agendas.
"The IGF and APC-MGE alliance gave us the flexibility to bring additional capacity into the data center while we remodeled and expanded our facility," said Scott & White data center manager William Roe. "The alliance helped address our needs, which were very specific."
"By providing more options to acquire APC-MGE's industry-leading, real-time infrastructure solutions and services, financing options make it easier for our customers and our partner network to get the technology they need to be successful," said Dave Johnson, APC-MGE chief sales officer. "Customers looking to finance large projects or those who just need assistance in acquiring our solutions can capitalize on the programs now available from APC-MGE. We are delighted to work with IGF on this program and continue expanding the business relationship between our two companies."
APC-MGE customers interested in IGF financing programs should contact APC-MGE sales representatives at 800-877-4080. IGF financing programs through APC-MGE are available globally immediately.
This is the latest in a string of announcements that signals an extension of IGF's industry-leading financing capabilities to non-IBM equipment manufacturers and suppliers, including Lenovo , Tech Data , Juniper Networks , AbsoluteSKY , and Symbol Technologies, now Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions.
