Market Wire, April, 2007
Jumpnode ( www.jumpnode.com ), the pioneer in appliance-enabled software (AeS) services for monitoring and remote management, today announced that it has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Belkin International, Inc., the global leader in connectivity solutions. The initial product resulting from the alliance will be an inexpensive and simple to install, use and maintain network monitoring and remote access offering for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Belkin's network monitoring product, Pulse , will be the first in a series of planned offerings based on Jumpnode's unique AeS platform, which integrates an on-site appliance with hosted software. The Jumpnode platform provides numerous advantages over traditional monitoring approaches, which rely on a network-based PC, including simplicity of installation and no software or hardware maintenance, as well as greater reliability and lower cost.
"We believe Jumpnode's novel approach will open up a new market for network monitoring and remote access among SMB customers that are hesitant to deploy expensive and bulky enterprise solutions," said Burk Murray, director of product management -- Access Solutions, Belkin International, Inc. "In addition, we see great potential in the Jumpnode platform for applications beyond network monitoring because it's ideal for analyzing, optimizing and troubleshooting the performance of any device on the network -- including servers, routers, switches and printers."
The Belkin Pulse network monitoring product complements its broad family of network solutions, which includes racks, enclosures, keyboard video mouse (KVM) switches, UPS products, hubs and wireless networking products. It will be sold through the company's extensive network of channel partners.
"This relationship with Belkin is an important one for Jumpnode," said Irfan Khan, CEO of Jumpnode. "Their understanding of our monitoring and remote access platform is a strong indicator that our unique approach has value well beyond traditional network monitoring. Belkin's industry stature and strong reputation with channel partners will help make that technology pervasive among SMB customers."
