Arbor Networks

TOPIC: "Reverse Engineering Malicious Javascript"
DESCRIPTION: Dr. Jose Nazario will address how Javascript has become
a prominent vector for delivering a flood of Internet
Explorer attacks and how there is no end in sight for
malicious websites using Javascript to take control of a
client's web browser and download malware.
He will describe how Javascript is often thought to be a
safe or a limited language, however, a growing number of
malicious websites have learned how to leverage the full
power of Javascript and Active X to their advantage. And
how to dissect these malicious websites is often a mystery
to researchers and security staff alike.
Dr. Narizio will show how researchers can disassemble
obfuscated websites and protect their networks, and will
cover both simple examples, a variety of obfuscated examples,
and show a wide range of tools that can be used to discover
what these websites are up to.
