ProactiveNet Named a 'Strong Performer' in New Business Service Management Market Research
Market Wire, April, 2007
ProactiveNet, Inc. today announced that it has been rated as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave: Business Service Management, Q1 2007 (March 28, 2007).
In its comprehensive assessment of the BSM market, Forrester notes that BSM is changing the way in which vendors build management software and how IT organizations use management software. Forrester states that while there are dozens of vendors that use the BSM term in their marketing, the firm has focused on a manageable shortlist of vendors that it considers to provide true BSM value to its clients.
In its supplemental report to the BSM Wave, titled ProactiveNet Uses Superior Analytics to Improve Business Service Management, Forrester analysts noted ProactiveNet's analytical approach to BSM. In that report, co-authors Peter O'Neill and Evelyn Hubbert wrote, "ProactiveNet is unique, as it provides BSM via an analytics engine that correlates massive volumes of performance data from across the entire infrastructure, narrowing the many potential causes of a service problem to a manageable few to speed problem resolution efforts."
When describing the criteria IT organizations should use to select a BSM solution, Forrester BSM Wave co-authors O'Neill and Hubbert write, "The most important criteria to look at when selecting a BSM solution is the product's ability to collect and leverage raw data from existing systems and data sources." In the report, ProactiveNet scored higher than any other vendor for its data collection capabilities.
The product's robust, out-of-the-box data collectors and adapters integrate with all leading systems management and third party tools, while its innovative Monitor Wizards enable administrators to easily build custom monitors to collect data on virtually any application or business performance metric within the IT infrastructure.
ProactiveNet's self-learning technology also has the ability to deliver value to enterprise IT organizations. The technology automatically learns the normal performance behavior of every monitored infrastructure attribute and custom metric, and automatically adjusts to change. This capability dramatically speeds the time to deploy into large enterprise environments, and as Forrester analysts wrote, "Its self-learning capabilities virtually eliminate the ongoing costs of threshold setting and script maintenance."
In addition, Forrester analysts took note of ProactiveNet's ability to provide early warning of developing performance problems. The solution's ability to process raw data that is continuously polled from each monitored attributed, combined with the product's "data-level correlation (analytics) enables it to preemptively identify problems based on dispersed data points."
"As one of the select vendors invited to participate in the BSM Wave, we're very proud to be named a strong performer," said Ajay Singh, president and CEO of ProactiveNet. "Our self-learning technology and analytics engine deliver unmatched, quantifiable 'time-to-value' by enabling customers to deploy faster, solve problems quicker, reduce costs and link business service performance directly to the IT infrastructure more efficiently. Given our strategic vision and unique approach to BSM, ProactiveNet is well positioned to capitalize on this growing market."
