BroadSoft Receives 2007 IMS Leadership Award From IMS Magazine
Market Wire, May, 2007
BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC) IMS Magazine has named BroadSoft a recipient of the 2007 IMS Leadership Award for its BroadWorks® IMS Product Portfolio . The award recognizes companies with products or services that have made major contributions to the advancement of the IMS industry.
The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) framework is critical to the delivery of multimedia applications by service providers over converged network architectures. By unifying fixed and mobile infrastructures through IMS, BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform allows both wireless and wireline service providers to deliver the same advanced applications over landline, mobile or residential broadband networks. These service providers also gain an open, IP-based infrastructure for next-generation application delivery and network convergence.
"We are honored to be the recipient of the first IMS Leadership Award from IMS Magazine," said Scott Wharton , vice president of Marketing for BroadSoft. "BroadWorks is consistently the IMS platform of choice in next-generation network deployments around the globe.
"Two years ago when we announced the BroadWorks platform as the first commercially available VoIP application technology that is IMS compliant, BroadWorks had already been operationally deployed by two of the world's leading infrastructure providers, Ericsson and Lucent," Wharton added. "Now our IMS partners also include BEA , Huawei and Italtel."
BroadWorks Advantages
The BroadWorks platform has been deployed in multiple IMS incumbent networks worldwide. BroadWorks applications function independently of the underlying network -- extending the service reach and simplifying operations for service providers. In an IMS architecture, third-party applications, such as presence, can be easily integrated with BroadWorks' rich feature set, which allows service operators to create new, differentiated services. The BroadWorks IMS Product Portfolio is comprised of an Application Server Complex (application, network, conferencing, web and call detail servers) and a Media Resource Function to deliver voice and video services.
"IMS Magazine is the leading resource for IMS and it is fitting to establish an award to recognize those companies that are launching the products and services that will transform the industry," stated Rich Tehrani, president of TMC. "Honoring BroadSoft is our way of recognizing them as a leader in the IMS market."
