Ellisys Announces Automated WiMedia Precompliance Test Solution

Ellisys, a leading supplier of test solutions for USB, Certified Wireless USB and the WiMedia Platform, today announced the Ellisys WiMedia Precompliance Test Solution . This automated solution has previously been used at WiMedia Alliance Interoperability and Compliance testing events, and is now available on a commercial basis so that manufacturers can test their devices before undergoing the formal compliance testing required for WiMedia Platform certification.

The Ellisys WiMedia Precompliance Test Solution automatically executes a comprehensive set of test scripts that implements the entire suite of test scenarios defined in the new WiMedia Platform Test Specification version 1.1. The test solution interacts with a device under test, captures all traffic exchanged with the device to a file, analyzes the traffic to verify compliance behavior, and generates a compliance report. Any detected issues can then be easily debugged using the capture file and the included WiMedia protocol analysis software.

The cornerstone of the solution is the Ellisys Compliance Tester software that coordinates and controls the operation of several products, including an Ellisys UWB Generator 320 traffic generator , an Ellisys Wireless USB Explorer 300 protocol analyzer , the Ellisys WiMedia analysis software, the Ellisys WiMedia Platform Test Case Scripts, and the Ellisys WiMedia Platform Background Verification software. This tight integration of the test solution results in extremely efficient operation since, once started, it executes tests automatically without requiring a human test operator.
