Riptopia Chosen as an Independent Software Vendor for Microsoft Windows Home Server
Market Wire, May, 2007
Music lovers today have hundreds of CDs, but many don't have the time or energy to download these collections for enjoyment on their digital music players, such as Windows Media Center or Zune. Now they don't have to, thanks to Riptopia, the leading national digital music processing service.
Microsoft is one of many companies to recognize the value of such a service, as there are almost 16 billion CDs currently in circulation in the United States and more than 600,000,000 new CDs are added to this number each year. On May 15th at the 2007 Windows Hardware Engineering Conference, Microsoft announced Riptopia as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) supporting Windows Home Server. Windows Home Server helps families centralize, share and protect their digital content and media. This will include high-definition digital music that Riptopia can help to download from Microsoft customers' extensive CD collections onto Windows Home Server, where the music will be protected and easily accessible.
"Most every household has a large CD collection, and Riptopia's CD loading service will easily turn those collections into digital music to be centrally stored and protected on Windows Home Server," says Steven VanRoekel, director of Windows Server Solutions at Microsoft. "We're excited to work with Riptopia and provide Windows Home Server customers access to the same Riptopia professional CD conversion used by record labels, radio stations and online digital music retailers."
"Riptopia is thrilled to be helping Microsoft customers effortlessly transition to the digital age," adds Riptopia's President Kurt Beyer. "Because personal music collections are precious from both monetary and emotional standpoints, Riptopia's professional digital music processing combined with Windows Home Server's data protection and automatic backup are an ideal fit."
Riptopia is the leading national digital music processing service creating organized digital music libraries for commercial and retail customers. Its PerfecSong(TM) error-correction technology restores even the most "well-loved" CDs, while PerfecTitle(TM) data-grooming technology organizes digital music libraries by taking into consideration each song's artist, album, title, genre and more. Riptopia is part of BP Digital Media, Inc., and is headquartered in Washington, DC with offices in California. For more information, visit www.riptopia.com or call 800-874-4921.
