For It's One... Two... Nine Scholarships at the Old Ballgame!

University of Phoenix, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC), is pleased to announce the recipients of the first annual Jermaine Dye, Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago University of Phoenix Scholarship Program Tuesday, May 22 during the White Sox versus Oakland Athletics game at 7:11 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Field.

The program, named after Jermaine Dye in honor and appreciation of his volunteerism and involvement with the BGCC, was created to enable qualified BGCC club members, staff and club alumni who may not otherwise be able to attend college the opportunity to attend University of Phoenix. The scholarships include full tuition, books and fees at University of Phoenix and/or Axia College of University of Phoenix, which offers associate's degree programs.

"At the BGCC, it is our mission to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. With the support of University of Phoenix, these young men and women will have access to valuable higher education opportunities that will enable them to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their professional goals, improve the productivity of the BGCC and provide leadership and service to their local communities," said Ronald J. Gidwitz, Chairman of the Midwest Region.

The recipients were chosen based on their involvement in their club, communities, school and home. This year's winners include:

--  Johnethia Hardin - James Jordan Club
--  Laurence Harris - Englewood Club
--  Erica Hodges - Cotter Club
--  Joshua Lillard - Valentine Club
