GeoScopix Classifies the Gator as an Integral Accident Investigation Tool

GeoScopix, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: GSPX) announced today that the Gator, a University of Florida-patented, stereoscopic, GPS-based, handheld digital geographic data manager, is being classified as an integral accident investigation tool.

Law enforcement departments and even insurance companies can use the Gator to accurately map out accident or crime scenes efficiently. The ability to effectively "go back to the scene" later would be a tremendous advantage in producing accurate graphics and information tools for investigators. The Gator produces detailed, accurate photographs that simulate the actual scene. A sample scenario might involve a 2-car accident at a busy intersection. The investigating officer can use the Gator to take several general scene photos in just a few minutes. Traffic can be restored immediately instead of being delayed further while the officer uses a measuring wheel and sketchpad to manually draw the scene. Additionally, reference data can be recorded with the Gator. Weather conditions will appear in the photo along with road conditions, lighting and moveable objects such as witnesses or interested observers. These added pieces of information greatly add to the value of the photos when they become part of accident / crime scene investigations. The time stamp that the GPS will add to the stereo photos is also valuable in court due to its accuracy. In short, the Gator saves time for officers on the scene and can aid in the investigation and even the insurance claim process.

The "Gator" uses a state of the art "stereo" camera system to take high resolution photographs. The 3-D photos can then be used to map relevant details such as elevation, distance, height, width and location. Some of the market segments that the Gator is geared towards are disaster recovery, military surveillance, construction, first responders, police, crime scene investigation teams, insurance companies and others. Specific agencies that would find this technology especially useful include the Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Land Management and the Department of Homeland Security / FEMA.
