CBS 3 Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan Teams Up With Angie's List to Give Viewers the Scoop on Local Service Providers
Market Wire, July, 2007
CBS 3 viewers can already take comfort in knowing they have "3 On Their Side" with Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan's popular series. Beginning tomorrow, they'll have Angie there as well.
CBS 3 and Angie's List, one of the most trusted online forums for consumer information, will launch a partnership on August 1st that will pair Angie Hicks, the Angie of Angie's List, with Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan for weekly consumer news segments on CBS 3. The stories are designed to help CBS 3 viewers find reliable contractors and other service providers to help them save money while improving and maintaining their homes and properties.
The weekly segments will feature Donovan and Hicks discussing topics ranging from how to hire a reliable handyman to how to effectively complain when you've been wronged to tips on keeping your home and property in good shape. The parnership will also include a designated section at www.cbs3.com where viewers can browse the entire library of stories and link directly to Angie's List.
"We invited Angie to join the 3 On Your Side family because there's just no one else out there with her level of experience and knowledge that can help our viewers," Donovan says. "Angie's List has an outstanding reputation for offering solid consumer advice and we expect great things from this partnership."
Angie's List, a national consumer organization with chapters in 124 cities across the United States, has been helping Delaware Valley residents find reliable service providers since June 2004. More than 20,000 area residents have already posted reports that detail their experiences with nearly 7,000 local service providers.
"We're thrilled to join CBS 3's stable of consumer advisors and we'll be working hard to offer insight and information that will further enhance the station's consumer work," Hicks said. "We'll focus on helping viewers maintain their homes and properties; recognizing when they need professional help; and showing them how to get reliable, trustworthy help at a reasonable price."
Angie's List is where consumers turn to get the real scoop on local contractors and companies in more than 280 different categories. Currently, more than 500,000 consumers across the U.S. rely on Angie's List to help them find the right contractor or company for the job they need done.
