Animation Collective and Fatkat Studios Announce Co-Venture for "Three Delivery," New, Animated Take on Super Hero Series

Market Wire, July, 2007

COMIC-CON -- New York-based Animation Collective and Canadian-based Fatkat Studios, today announced a co-venture for the new, 26 half-hour episode action-comedy, animated series, "Three Delivery." The announcement was made at COMIC-CON International, a comic book and entertainment industry trade show in San Diego. "Three Delivery" was created by Larry Schwarz, Animation Collective's founder and C.E.O. The series, about a group of teenage delivery kids/super heroes, set in a Chinatown and is animated in a highly graphic comic-book style, will be co-produced with Fatkat as a U.S./Canadian co-venture. Animation Collective will handle worldwide television and consumer products sales.

Animation Collective and Fatkat Studios will produce "Three Delivery" in association with Nicktoons Network, YTV and the BBC. Nicktoons has acquired the broadcast rights to "Three Delivery" in the U.S., YTV in Canada and the BBC in the UK. The deal comprises 26 half-hour episodes of the animated action comedy series, that will premiere in early 2008 in the U.S. and UK and September 2009 in Canada. As part of a multi-platform initiative, Animation Collective is also producing 11, two-minute mobisodes for cellular phones and a complete online world for the series; including a massive multi-player game.

"We're pleased to be collaborating on this venture with like-minded partners who share our desire to create innovative and engaging programming," said Scott Dyer, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, Kids, Corus Entertainment. "'Three Delivery' will be developed, packaged and delivered to create a truly multi-screen experience so we can reach our audiences wherever they are."

"'Three Delivery' is a smart, funny project and we really look forward to working with Animation Collective to bring it to screen and make it the success it deserves to be," said Jesse Cleverly, Head of CBBC Co-Productions and Acquisitions.

"'Three Delivery' is our first take on the super hero genre, but like all of our series, it is driven by great characters and compelling, kid-relatable stories. The show is a fantasy, but the characters are written as real kids who viewers will want to emulate. We also incorporated tween trends, including extreme bike riding, punk and EMO," said Larry Schwarz, the show's creator and executive producer.

"Everyone here is very excited to be combining efforts on 'Three Delivery,' and are looking forward to creating a fantastic property that can be enjoyed worldwide," said Andrew Dunn, VP Business Development, Fatkat Studios. "This is a great opportunity for Fatkat to finally utilize its Flash techniques with great traditional animation," said Gene Fowler, President, Fatkat Studios.

About "Three Delivery"

Years ago, an evil young apprentice named Kong Li unleashed the power of a magical cookbook, scattering its dangerous recipes throughout Chinatown. Thanks to an ancient spell, a force field was placed around the city, keeping the magic in. For many years, the rest of the world was protected, but now Kong Li has returned to find the powerful recipes. If he succeeds, evil power will be released and the world will be in danger.

Luckily, three teenage heroes, skilled in Kung Fu, have been trained to stop Kong Li. When orphans Sue, Sid, and Toby are recruited by Nana to make deliveries for Wu's Garden Chinese restaurant, they see it as a chance to move out of the orphanage and ride cool bikes. Little did they know that every evening they would be locked in a lightning-fast battle against evil for the fate of the world.

A modern day superhero tale packed with martial arts action, high speed bike races, paranormal mystery and kid-relatable comedy, "Three Delivery" is set in a Chinatown at twilight with rich hues and spectacular lighting that enhance the mystery. The action unfolds in extreme close-ups and dramatic angles as if ripped from the pages of a comic book.
