The Baltimore Ravens Team-Up With Anystream to Create Media for BaltimoreRavens.com and VOD
Market Wire, August, 2007
It was announced today that the Baltimore Ravens have deployed Anystream's media automation platform to create video content for exclusive interviews, weekly television shows, games, press conferences, player features and other specials for their official team website, BaltimoreRavens.com .
"Our interest in Anystream was driven by a need to improve our encoding workflow and bring Flash and VOD production in-house," said Lauryn Lukin, Baltimore Ravens' manager of broadcasting. "Before Anystream, our system would be tied up for hours as we encoded Flash files on individual computers. Other NFL teams recommended we look into Anystream's Agility and after hearing how easily it integrated with our current Avid technology, we made the decision to adopt it."
Anystream Agility enables the BaltimoreRavens.com production team to eliminate manual, non-creative steps from the process of converting broadcast video for optimal Web playback. Rather than manually editing, encoding and distributing files one at a time, BaltimoreRavens.com producers now submit finished video segments to Anystream's Agility for automatic processing. Agility reduces errors and speeds production time by performing the media conversion chores systematically using pre-set profiles. During each week of the regular season, approximately seven hours of new content are produced for the team's website and for VOD.
"We are delighted with the Anystream system. When we play home games at M&T Bank Stadium, we routinely deliver Flash 8 Video content to our website within two hours of the post-game press conference," added Jen Hinkle, coordinator of new media services for the Ravens. "When we play away games, we generally finish the content within an hour of the media's arrival at our Owings Mills, MD studio because all the post-production is done on the plane."
Anystream's enterprise software delivers some of the world's most popular content to Web, VOD and Live Streaming delivery platforms, including content from NFL Films , Fox Sports, MLB.com , the Washington Redskins and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
"I would recommend Anystream to any organization looking to distribute their multimedia content to the masses," said Jay O'Brien, Ravens coordinator of broadcasting.
