Market Wire, August, 2007
Veracode Inc., provider of the industry's first on-demand application security review solutions, today announced that TELUS Corporation (TSX: T) (TSX: T.A) (NYSE: TU) and Veracode have formed a strategic partnership.
TELUS, a leading national telecommunications company in Canada, will use Veracode's SecurityReview(TM) solution to provide a significantly enhanced level of security for its internal applications. TELUS now will be able do a more comprehensive analysis of the security levels of its internal applications -- and will do so faster and easier.
In addition, TELUS will become a key channel partner for Veracode in Canada, helping TELUS continue to provide best-in-class security assessments through TELUS Security Solutions. Whether companies are developing or purchasing software, TELUS will provide automated application security reviews based on Veracode technology to help customers identify and fix software vulnerabilities before they become liabilities.
"Information security is a critical issue for all businesses today. Security threats are continuing to grow and put companies and their customers at risk. This partnership with Veracode gives us access to a key application security technology -- binary code security reviews as an outsourced service -- and allows us to further strengthen our differentiated suite of security offerings," said Mark Noppe, vice president and general manager of TELUS Security Solutions. "IT security is a fast-growing business for us. Partnering with Veracode increases the power of our security review value proposition. By providing binary code reviews, we can help our customers identify and remediate the software flaws that put their businesses at risk without the need to expose their intellectual property."
Matt Moynahan, president and CEO of Veracode, said, "Veracode chose TELUS as a strategic partner because it is a market leader in providing high value security to its customers. TELUS saw the immediate value in Veracode's on-demand application security solution that incorporates multiple vulnerability scanning technologies, and understood the opportunity to leverage them in the Canadian market. At the same time, our automated solutions give TELUS enhanced security for both its internally developed software and its purchased software, with minimal impact on capital investments or development schedule."
As part of its commitment, TELUS, through its venture investment arm, TELUS Ventures, has invested in Veracode.
