Marathon Technologies and Providence Solutions Team to Deliver Automated Availability Solutions Throughout Asia Pacific Markets
Market Wire, August, 2007
Marathon Technologies Corporation, the leading provider of automated, fault tolerant-class availability solutions for virtual and physical environments, announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with Providence Solutions, an Asia-wide enterprise IT solutions distributor. Serving companies from India to Thailand to Korea, the Singapore-based distributor will expand its comprehensive set of IT solutions with Marathon's everRun software to ensure systems integrators and solution providers in the Asia Pacific region have continuous availability to its organizational data, networks and applications.
The agreement, which was driven in large part by a growing demand for fault tolerant-class solutions in the Asian Pacific market, will serve companies in the banking, telecommunications, manufacturing, security and aviation sectors. Providence customers, such as the Changi Airport in Singapore are already using Marathon's everRun software to protect building control systems from faults, failures and disasters.
"We've been seeing an increasing demand for high availability solutions from our expanding customer base in the Asia Pacific market," said Jason Aw, technology director for Providence Solutions. "Marathon is an ideal partner; its everRun technology complemented our existing IT solutions and enabled us to better meet our customers' needs. Customers such as Asiatel (S) Pte. Ltd., Singapore and Antarius IS Pte Ltd. are already using -- and are pleased with -- Marathon's everRun software. We look forward to expanding Marathon's unique offerings to businesses throughout Asia."
"We evaluated Marathon's everRun HA against other high availability solutions in the market, and are impressed with its simple and effective virtual server architecture," said Yeo Poh Seng, CEO, Asiatel (S) Pte. Ltd., Singapore. "With the assistance of Providence Solutions, our engineers installed the system without difficulty. In working with Providence to implement Marathon's everRun, we were impressed with Providence's professionalism, their technical competence of the everRun products and their support to help us meet our customers' needs."
"Marathon offers proven solutions that have added business value to our products and services offerings," said Evelyn Ng, business manager for Antarius IS Pte Ltd. "Being a partner of Marathon helps open doors to a larger market space. With Providence Solutions being the value-added distributor in this region, we can approach the market with confidence and assurance."
Marathon's everRun line of fault tolerant-class availability products protects Microsoft Windows applications from leading sources of downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automation, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to resolve faults and failures. The primary benefit to the end user is that they are protecting their business by ensuring continuity of operations -- simply, at low cost and with complete confidence.
"We are pleased to partner with a distinguished reseller that has such a thorough understanding of fault tolerant-class solutions and the Asia Pacific market," said Gary Phillips, president and CEO of Marathon Technologies. "This alliance demonstrates Marathon's ongoing commitment to serving the Asian market. We look forward to working with Providence Solutions to further provide companies of all sizes in the region with a solution that protects their data, networks and applications."
