Bicycle(R) Brand Playing Cards Debut 2008 Election Edition Decks

Market Wire, September, 2007

Bicycle, the leading playing card brand from the United States Playing Card Company (USPC), announced the launch of the Bicycle Election Edition(TM) collection decks. The three unique decks focus on the major political parties in the 2008 Presidential election. Each Democrat, Independent or Republican deck sold is one vote for that party in a nationwide USPC poll. USPC will begin to track and post results to www.BicycleCards.com in February 2008.

The playing cards include customized card back designs featuring a Donkey for the Democratic Party (blue deck), an Eagle for the Independent Party (purple deck) and an elephant for the Republican Party (red deck). In addition, the court cards are custom drawn to resemble George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Betsy Ross.

"The election season brings with it the never-ending opinion polls and those infamous red and blue states," said Rob Clendening, Bicycle brand manager. "The Bicycle brand is an iconic piece of American culture and the launch of the election edition playing cards is a fun and interactive initiative to track red and blue decks, instead of states, among a large market of politically interested consumers."

Election Edition playing cards will be sold at grocery, drug and convenience stores in addition to mass market retailers across the country. The collection decks are expected to retail for about $3.00.
