EzRez Software Brings Online Travel to Gannett Pacific Publications
Market Wire, September, 2007
EzRez Software Inc., a provider of online travel packaging and merchandising solutions, today announced it has partnered with Gannett Pacific Publications (GPP), a division of Gannett Co. Inc., a leading international news and information company, to provide customized travel booking engine technology for the company's travel Websites. Through EzRez's White Label Plus travel service, consumers are now able to book travel to the destinations they learn about through Gannett's vast media network.
EzRez's fully integrated travel platform allows Gannett to easily sell any combination of air, hotel, rental car, vacation activities and other travel components to customers through its own branded Websites, including 40 London web sites representing Gannett's United Kingdom media arm, Newsquest. Newsquest is the second largest regional newspaper publisher in the United Kingdom, operating 17 daily newspapers, nearly 300 non-daily publications, locally integrated Websites and classified business Websites with a national reach.
"Gannett was looking for a travel solution flexible enough to be configured to the needs of its diverse online brands while supporting multiple languages, currencies and destinations," said John Swanciger, Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for EzRez. "EzRez's customizable travel platform is tightly integrated with the look and feel of Gannett's various media properties, providing an easy-to-use, seamless experience."
EzRez provides access to competitively priced travel inventory through its extensive network of EzRez clients and third-party reservation systems, offering consumers the unique opportunity to book tens of thousands of hotel properties together with more than 60 European airlines.
Powered by EzRez, GPP's new online travel agency for Londoners -- www.MustDoTravel.co.uk -- has become the Travel section for the 40 local newspaper Websites in the regions surrounding London, such as the Surrey Comet, Kingston Guardian, Wimbledon Guardian and Wimbledon News along with the flagship site, www.thisislocallondon.co.uk .
"Building our own booking tool with EzRez gives us tremendous flexibility and control over how we present our travel product to our visitors," said Steve Langley, Director of Online Sales for Gannett Pacific Publications. "It gives us the ability to create specific low cost packages available only to our members."
The EzRez booking engine will be integrated into GPP's popular www.Hawaii.com site later this year, providing full access to EzRez's relationships with local wholesalers as well as global travel partners to provide customers with attractive hotel inventory and airfares not available through other online travel agencies. Additional GPP travel sites that will integrate the EzRez booking tool in 2008 include www.MustDoTravel.com , www.101ThingstoDo.com , www.MustDoTravel.co.uk and http://micronesia.hawaii.com .
