ALTADIS : Altadis Launches New Montecristo Cigarette Brand

Following its rollout in duty free shops in leading airports throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Altadis has now launched its new Montecristo cigarette brand in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
With Montecristo, a name that evokes prestige around the world, Altadis has expanded its brand portfolio at the high end, a segment with only a limited number of products. A 100% blend of the finest tobaccos, the new cigarette is manufactured at the Group's plant in Riom, France.
Altadis owns a 50% stake in the Cuban cigar maker Habanos, with whom it has a licensing agreement to develop the well-known brand in the cigarette market.
Montecristo goes on sale today in tobacco shops throughout France in two different versions--Red and Gold--at a price of EUR 5.30 for a pack of 20 cigarettes.
On sale in Belgium since September 1, the brand is also being introduced today in Luxembourg.
