Cincom Socrates Configuration Management Software Achieves "Powered by SAP NetWeaver(R)" Status
Market Wire, October, 2007
Worldwide software provider Cincom Systems ( www.cincom.com ) announces that its Cincom Socrates® version 8.2 ( www.cincom.com/sap3 ) has achieved "Powered by SAP NetWeaver®" status from SAP AG (NYSE: SAP). Cincom Socrates is a knowledge-based modeling system that supports SAP® solutions and extends business value by providing guided-selling, product-configuration, and proposal-management capabilities for configure-to-order and engineer-to-order manufacturers. Cincom Socrates has been proven to integrate with SAP solutions, allowing complex manufacturers using an SAP solution-based platform to sell more effectively by automating their quote-to-order process.
The SAP Integration and Certification Center has certified that Cincom Socrates properly integrates with the SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) component of the SAP NetWeaver platform to exchange critical data with instances of the SAP Business Suite family of applications. Cincom has also demonstrated that Cincom Socrates integrates successfully with the SAP NetWeaver Portal.
"Achieving Powered by SAP NetWeaver status for Cincom Socrates is a crucial step in our efforts to expand our sales-configuration applications in the SAP sphere," said Gregor Newland, partner channel manager for Cincom's manufacturing business solutions. "Our partners can now easily offer our functionality to their complex-manufacturing customers using SAP solutions."
Manufacturers with engineer-to-order or configure-to-order products have successfully streamlined sales, design, and proposal processes by using Cincom to deliver critical product and sales knowledge to the point of sale and reduce "quote to cash" time significantly. Cincom has helped manufacturers reduce proposal generation time from five days to 15 minutes, decrease time to close a sale by 80 percent, and cut lead times from 14 weeks to six weeks.
The SAP NetWeaver platform powers the SAP Business Suite, SAP® xApps(TM) packaged composite applications, and solutions such as Cincom Socrates. SAP NetWeaver unifies integration technologies into a single platform and is pre-integrated with business applications, enabling change and reducing the need for custom integration.
Today's announcement was made at TechEd '07 Las Vegas, SAP's largest technical education conference. For more information about Cincom's products and solutions for complex manufacturers, visit www.cincom.com/manufacturing .
