Independent Research Firm's Managed Security Services Q4 2007 Report Cites Getronics as Strong Performer
Market Wire, October, 2007
The independent research firm Forrester has cited Getronics (GTN, Euronext) as a Strong Performer in its October 2007 Forrester Wave: Managed Security Services Q4 2007, the first global Wave on this topic conducted by Forrester. Getronics was among the select companies that Forrester invited to participate in its Forrester Wave: Managed Security Services, Q4 2007. In this evaluation Getronics was recognized as a Strong performer in Managed Security Services (MSS) domain.
The report states "Getronics uses its extensive experience in both the security and systems integrator domains to deliver its MSS offering, with a strong focus on close integration with existing customer infrastructure." According to Forrester, "Getronics is exceptionally well positioned in Europe." The report indicates that Getronics also "supports monitoring a range of devices and offers a very wide range of security services."
Forrester evaluated Getronics' current offering, strategy, and marketing presence for managed security services against 56 criteria. According to the report, "Overall, Getronics has strong support for a diverse set of devices and offers a wide range of additional services." Forrester adds, "Getronics leads the way in service integration and embedding security - think ITIL 3.0, ASL, WISDOM, and IP telephony - resulting in better availability and predictability for clients from their IT investments. This means (the managed service) is an especially good fit for buyers that need a vendor with a European focus and have a variety of devices that need to be supported."
Mr. Haydar Cimen, global director of security services at Getronics explains:"We are delighted to see Forrester respond to our approach to embed security within consulting and managed services. Our results already indicate that these efforts lead to better availability and predictability for our clients The report's rating once more proves that our approach to service excellence as accomplished through our Global Service Delivery Model resonates with analyst perception and customer demands."
Getronics provides to national and global clients a robust set of security services to deliver protection of vital information assets, reduce the overwhelming security complexity and optimizes the productivity and effectiveness of our customers' workforce.
The number of companies that outsource their security operational responsibilities to MSS providers has steadily increased. According to the Wave report, "Forrester estimates that the total IT services and outsourcing spending has increased by 4% over the past year to exceed USD 76 billion today. Forrester estimates that the highly fragmented and complex global MSS market currently tops USD 2 billion."
