Marathon Technologies Partners With Kerio Technologies to Provide Continuous Email Availability to SMB Market
Market Wire, October, 2007
Marathon Technologies Corporation, the leading provider of automated, fault tolerant-class availability solutions for virtual and physical environments, announced today that it has signed a software alliance agreement with Kerio Technologies Inc., the award-winning provider of internet messaging and firewall software solutions for small to medium sized businesses (SMBs). Silicon Valley-based Kerio will augment its software solutions with Marathon's everRun software to provide its SMB customers with continuous availability to Kerio MailServer, a state-of-the-art groupware server allowing companies to collaborate via email, shared contacts, shared calendars and tasks.
Through the collaboration, the two companies have tested and proven the interoperability of everRun with Kerio's software to ensure applications have continuous availability and that data is always protected. In addition, the two companies will work cooperatively on joint marketing, sales and lead generation initiatives. The partnership has already generated joint customers and partners in the education, government and technology sectors including Bridge Digital Inc., a storage and integration solutions provider based outside Nashville, Tennessee.
To eliminate the frustrating downtime they were experiencing with their existing servers, Bridge Digital turned to, and now relies on, Marathon's everRun software to deliver continuous access to its Kerio MailServer. With the integrated solution in place, Bridge Digital has fault tolerant-class availability for its advanced webmail and mobile device support for customer inquiries and internal communications between sales offices.
"From partners to prospective clients, there is an increased expectation that email will be responded to quickly if not immediately," said Kerry Springer, sales and marketing manager for Bridge Digital. "everRun provides our Kerio MailServer with a much greater level of protection than failover solutions. With Marathon, we are confident that our email, which is critical to our business success, will be robust, reliable and continuously available."
"It is critical for small to medium sized businesses to ensure that their essential applications such as email are protected from potential failures and downtime," said Dusan Vitek, VP Worldwide Marketing of Kerio Technologies Inc. "Partnering with Marathon enables us to provide the highest level of availability to our customers with the least amount of cost or complexity. By combining the extensive feature set of Kerio MailServer with the automated availability of everRun, we are delivering simple, reliable, messaging and collaboration solutions that are ideal for SMBs."
Marathon's everRun line of fault tolerant-class availability products protects Microsoft Windows applications from leading sources of downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automated, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to resolve faults and failures. The primary benefit to the end user is that they are protecting their business by ensuring continuity of operations -- simply, at low cost and with complete confidence.
"We are pleased to work with an award-winning partner that shares our commitment to simple, reliable and affordable solutions for SMBs," said Gary Phillips, president and CEO of Marathon Technologies. "Companies of all sizes that use everRun and Kerio MailServer together can focus on their business, confident that their email systems are secure and reliable."
