Acumen Solutions Names Donita Prakash Chief Marketing Officer

Acumen Solutions, a leading business and technology consulting firm with offices across the U.S. and in Europe, announced today that Donita Prakash has assumed the role of Chief Marketing Officer for the firm. Her duties will include marketing strategy and execution for the firm as well as for Alteritech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Acumen Solutions that provides managed technology services.
Before joining Acumen Solutions in 2006, Ms. Prakash was Vice-President of Herndon, VA-based BioPay, a biometric payments service provider for commercial enterprises. In her first 12 months at the firm, BioPay doubled their registered client base to 2.5 million prior to the company being acquired by Pay By Touch.
Prior to this she served as Director of e-Commerce at AOL in Vienna, VA during the late 90s, managing the business of online classifieds and yellow pages and overseeing partnership relationships with GTE (now Verizon), eBay, Homestore, Cars.com and Monster.com. Under her leadership the e-Commerce division increased their revenue over six fold.
Previously at MCI, Ms. Prakash led a product marketing team developing Internet services. Prior to MCI, she began her career as a foreign currency trader and held sales and marketing positions within Wells Fargo Bank and Telerate Financial Information network throughout Asia.
With 20 years of marketing experience at companies such as Wells Fargo Bank, MCI and a five year stint managing her own web marketing firm, where she routinely drove double digit increases in web site audience for clients, Ms. Prakash brings a great deal of marketing innovation and technical expertise to her new role. She resides in Ashburn, VA with her husband and 2 children.
