Simple Plan Is Back; Multi-Platinum Band to Host Exclusive Live Webchat Featuring World Premiere of New Single, "When I'm Gone"; Online Event Set for Monday, October 29th

Lava/Atlantic recording group Simple Plan will make their long-awaited return next week with the world premiere of their first new music in more than two years. The multi-platinum certified band will debut their new single, "When I'm Gone," with a special live video event on Monday, October 29th. The webchat heralds Simple Plan's eagerly anticipated third studio album, due to arrive on January 29th, 2008.

Slated for 6pm EDT/3pm PDT at Simple Plan's official site, www.simpleplan.com , the "When I'm Gone" world premiere event will also see the Montreal-based band divulging exclusive details of their upcoming new album and taking questions from die-hard fans around the world.

"When I'm Gone" (:25 sample clip attached below) will go on sale via iTunes in conjunction with the webchat, with an option to pre-order Simple Plan's new album through www.Lala.com and receive the digital single for free. In addition, the "When I'm Gone" ringtone will be made available at www.simpleplan.com . "When I'm Gone" will then go on sale at all DSPs, beginning Tuesday, October 30th.

"When I'm Gone" will be delivered digitally to multi-format radio outlets worldwide immediately following the October 29th webcast, with physical CD singles shipping to such formats as Top 40, Alternative, and Hot AC on Friday, November 2nd.

The as-yet-untitled new Simple Plan album sees the irrepressible quintet teaming up with a truly unique line-up of production talent, including Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne), Danjahands (T.I., Timbaland, Justin Timberlake), and Max Martin (James Blunt, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne). The result is the band's most inventive, genre-defying collection to date, a blend of classic punk energy and modern pop sonics that's both utterly distinctive and deliriously entertaining. The album is Simple Plan's fourth overall, following 2002's RIAA 2x-platinum debut, "NO PADS, NO HELMETS...JUST BALLS," 2004's platinum-certified follow-up, "STILL NOT GETTING ANY," and 2005's "MTV HARD ROCK LIVE."

Simple Plan will spend much of 2008 doing what they do best -- playing live to packed-out houses full of revved-up fans. But first the band plan to introduce audiences to "When I'm Gone" and other new songs with performances at a series of holiday-themed concerts throughout December.
