Green Hills Software Joins Trusted Computing Group
Market Wire, October, 2007
Green Hills Software, Inc., the technology leader in device software optimization (DSO) and real-time operating systems (RTOS), has joined the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) to develop the next generation of open standards and technology for secure computing. Green Hills Software will contribute its security expertise to the support and development of information assurance technologies that will protect critical information and assets.
"We are pleased to have a leading secure operating system vendor as part of the industry influencers supporting the TCG," said Brian Berger, Trusted Computing Group marketing work group chairman. "Green Hills Software's participation in evolving TCG standards will provide valuable expertise in the secure operating system and virtualization area and will help proliferate our open approach to PC security."
"The open standards developed by TCG have been widely adopted in commercial, off-the-shelf computing platforms, operating systems, and applications," commented David Kleidermacher, chief technology officer, Green Hills Software. "Green Hills Software's information assurance technologies, including INTEGRITY PC(TM), take a central role in securing computer systems based on the open architecture standards developed by TCG for trusted network and IT environments."
About INTEGRITY PC Technology
Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY PC is a software platform designed for the military, intelligence, financial, medical, and other critical infrastructure communities where PC users must manage and protect high-value information. INTEGRITY PC is based on the safety and security-certified INTEGRITY real-time operating system and incorporates a suite of secure software components, including Green Hills Software's award-winning Padded Cell(TM) virtualization software. Padded Cell enables multiple guest operating systems -- such as Windows, Linux, and Solaris -- and their applications to be run in secure partitions on the same computer. The resulting platform enables systems designers to build the most security-critical applications and run them alongside familiar operating environments, saving cost, size, weight, and power over multiple hardware platforms.
INTEGRITY PC takes advantage of the latest hardware security features, including the TCG-compliant features found in Intel vPro® Processor technology that aid in secure attestation and hardware-based cryptographic controls.
About the Trusted Computing Group
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is a not-for-profit organization formed to develop, define, and promote open standards for hardware-enabled trusted computing and security technologies, including hardware building blocks and software interfaces, across multiple platforms, peripherals, and devices. TCG specifications will enable more secure computing environments without compromising functional integrity, privacy, or individual rights. The primary goal is to help users protect their information assets (data, passwords, keys, etc.) from compromise due to external software attack and physical theft.
