Xandros Launches Polish Server With Scalix Exchange Alternative
Market Wire, November, 2007
Xandros, the leading provider of intuitive Linux solutions and mixed-environment management tools, today launched the Polish version of Xandros Server 2, a complete, enterprise-grade SMB Linux server package. The new server includes the award-winning Scalix Exchange alternative, Xen virtualization and more than 30 other services. Amazis.net, a leading provider of open IT solutions, will bring the next generation Xandros Server to Polish system administrators.
The Xandros Linux server is compatible with existing Windows domain and networking topologies, and can be managed remotely from a Windows or Xandros desktop through the all-graphical Xandros Management Console (xMC). It provides a perfect alternative for Windows administrators looking to minimize down-time and cut support costs while continuing to operate in the way they have grown accustomed.
"We are excited to introduce the Polish Edition of Xandros Server 2 to the booming Polish market for open IT solutions. The complete, Debian-based solution delivers the Scalix Exchange alternative and a host of other services in a thoroughly tested, stable package that provides unrivaled ease of installation and use," said Marcin Zalicki, Country Manager of Amazis.net. "Windows system administrators accustomed to the Microsoft Management Console will be happy to use the graphical Xandros Management Console, which even lets them manage Xandros Server from their Windows PC."
"With a population of over 38 million, Poland has emerged as a major player in the European IT market, and we are very pleased with the strong reception for Xandros products," said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. "Now, thanks to our localized server and Amazis.net distribution, our award-winning server solutions will reach a broad new range of Polish customers, specifically among SMBs looking for an open, Windows-compatible alternative that is simple to deploy and administer."
