Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST and Oracle(R) Database Achieve Record-Breaking Performance on Linux With TPC-C Benchmark

Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation and Oracle today announced a TPC-C record performance benchmark result on Linux using Oracle(R) Database on a Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST(R) 580 server and the Linux operating system.(1) Fujitsu is exhibiting at this year's Oracle OpenWorld, November 12-15, 2007, in booth 1202.
Running on a Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST 580 server with 32 Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 1.6 GHz processors, Oracle Database on the Linux operating system achieved 2,196,268 tpmC (transactions per minute) with a price-performance ratio of $4.70/tpmC. This is the fastest TPC-C benchmark ever published on the Linux operating system.
