Solidcore Adds Real-Time Endpoint Control to HP Business Service Automation
Market Wire, November, 2007
Solidcore® Systems, Inc., a leading provider of real-time change control software, today announced integration of its S3 Control(TM) product with the HP Business Service Automation (BSA) solution. The integration enables customers to improve service availability and sustain continuous compliance by driving all change through the HP Business Service Automation solution. Solidcore's existing sales and marketing alliance with HP gives HP the option to resell the Solidcore S3 Control software with the HP Business Service Automation solution based on select customer needs.
IT organizations are challenged to sustain compliance , improve service availability and reduce IT costs when change occurs outside of the approved process. Solidcore enhances the capabilities of HP Business Service Automation by capturing critical change information in real-time, reconciling change activity against approved change tickets, and automatically preventing unauthorized changes to the infrastructure. Solidcore allows customers to enforce the HP BSA solution as an authorized "agent of change," only allowing HP-related changes to occur on the infrastructure. This can help ensure all change occurs through approved process. Solidcore can summarize all change events in reports to demonstrate compliance to auditors with minimal effort, reducing the cost of Payment Card Industry (PCI) or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance verification.
"Solidcore is pleased to be working closely with HP to assure the availability and compliance of critical systems in today's most demanding IT environments," said Bob Vieraitis, vice president of marketing for Solidcore. "Solidcore provides comprehensive visibility of change across the infrastructure, and our capabilities for blocking out-of-policy change are instrumental in driving all change through the HP Business Service Automation solution."
Solidcore's S3 Control software provides real-time visibility of change, including "who" is making changes, "what" is actually being changed, "when" change is occurring, and "how" the change was made. This enables the IT organization to ensure deployed systems are always in a known and verified state. Solidcore's S3 Control software interoperates with HP Business Service Automation and IT Service Management solutions to help customers ensure only changes approved through HP are deployed on production systems and that specific maintenance windows are enforced. Solidcore can also highlight differences in changes deployed in staging and production environments, and create an exception report that lists any extra and missing changes.
Solidcore integrates with several key components of the HP BSA portfolio including HP ServiceManager, HP Server Automation software and HP Network Automation software. Solidcore S3 Control can also provide additional value for HP Change Control Manager customers by allowing real-time change event data to be integrated into the HP Change Control Manager's policy engine. Solidcore S3 Control also delivers value in configuration management database (CMDB) implementations by allowing real-time updates and "right-click" root-cause analysis for the HP Universal CMDB product.
"The integration of Solidcore with the HP Business Service Automation solution will help our customers achieve the highest levels of IT service availability and will help our customers ensure all change flows through approved processes," said Chuck Neal, vice president of channel and alliances, Software, HP.
