Reconnex Signs OEM Agreement With Cisco's IronPort Business Unit to Enhance Turnkey Encryption and Blocking Solutions for Email
Market Wire, December, 2007
Reconnex , the leader in information monitoring and protection appliances , today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with IronPort Systems , a Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) business unit that develops anti-malware and email encryption appliances, to enhance turnkey compliance and blocking solutions for email. The combination of Reconnex's data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities and IronPort's PXE (PostX) encryption technology results in a streamlined solution for the complex task of protecting sensitive corporate information . Reconnex and Cisco are partnering in field and channel sales activities to launch the combined solution.
The Reconnex iGuard DLP solution enables enterprises to learn what intellectual property (IP) and other digital assets need protection and who within and outside the organization should have access to these assets. Enterprises can quickly find and create access policies for information with a high business impact and define business policies for sensitive data. IronPort PXE(TM) encryption technology provides secure, standards- and policy-based email encryption that is simple for both senders and receivers, and is accessible from any email platform, including AOL, Yahoo!, Gmail, and Hotmail, as well as from enterprise email clients such as Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Groupwise. A secure response functionality allows recipients to respond securely without installing any software.
"IronPort is pleased to be partnering with Reconnex," said Tom Gillis, vice president of marketing at IronPort Systems, now a part of Cisco. "Reconnex has established a strong presence in the DLP market. Its decision to incorporate IronPort's PXE encryption technology into the Reconnex solution will further strengthen its value proposition to customers."
"Reconnex's OEM agreement with Cisco's IronPort unit is an integral part of our strategy for ensuring that customers' data receives the broadest possible protection," said Faizel Lakhani, vice president of marketing at Reconnex. "Our DLP technology, together with IronPort's PXE encryption technology and Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) capability, makes it easy to apply automatic encryption to sensitive information being transmitted outside the organization."
