ChosenSecurity Joins Adobe Certified Document Services Program to Help Ensure Authenticity of PDF Documents
Market Wire, December, 2007
ChosenSecurity, Inc., a leading global provider of On-Demand PKI (public key infrastructure) security services, today announced a partnership with Adobe® Systems Incorporated. The partnership has allowed ChosenSecurity to develop TC Business ID for Adobe, a new product for verifying the authenticity and integrity of documents and forms stored in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). ChosenSecurity designed TC Business ID for Adobe for organizations in document- and forms-intensive industries such as financial services, insurance and government to help them enjoy the benefits of working with digital, rather than paper-based information, in a highly secure manner.
Many businesses prefer the efficiency and cost savings associated with entirely digital workflows for processes such as handling insurance claims and processing mortgage applications, but resort to paper to attempt to verify that documents have not been altered. The ChosenSecurity TC Business for Adobe solution allows authors of PDF documents and personalized PDF forms to centrally sign them on a server using a hardware security module. The recipients can then check the validity of the signature using the free Adobe PDF Reader.
"With TC Business ID for Adobe, PDF documents can be digitally signed and unambiguously linked to the author," said Dr. Rolf Lindemann, director of product management at ChosenSecurity. "Customers improve security because they can rely on unaltered digital documents, and recipients can easily verify the author because the name of the organization and the certification authority are clearly visible in the signed PDF document."
The first provider of such a solution for Adobe PDF files, ChosenSecurity offers TC Business ID for Adobe with a validity of one year for up to 50,000, 100,000 or 500,000 signatures a year. The document owner designated in the certificate may be a person, a department or company. The new solution is immediately available from ChosenSecurity at a starting price of $8,645.
