Texas A&M Partners With Bosch Rexroth for New Fluid Power Laboratory

( www.boschrexroth-us.com ) Bosch Rexroth recently supplied Texas A&M University with the latest innovative fluid power technology, including hydraulics and pneumatics training equipment, that be utilized in the new Bosch Rexroth-R.C. Womack Fluid Power Laboratory.

The lab, which was created in conjunction with Texas-based Womack Machine Supply Company , is a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility which will showcase eight new fluid power trainers with pneumatic and industrial hydraulic systems from Bosch Rexroth .

Bosch Rexroth president and CEO Berend Bracht joined Texas A&M faculty and students as they officially opened the lab for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The primary mission of the lab is to educate students using the latest technology in fluid power, through the use of hydraulics, pneumatics and advanced control methods. Its secondary mission is to attract industry sponsored projects and provide a professional training facility for engineers, distributors and managerial professionals working in the fluid power market place.

"This laboratory models the integrated engineering business marketplace where multiple technologies converge to solve customers' problems," said Dr. Walter W. Buchanan, head of the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M. "We are grateful to Bosch Rexroth and Mr. R.C. Womack for this facility, which blends technologies taught in all programs of our department."

By partnering with Texas A&M on the Fluid Power Laboratory, Bosch Rexroth gives students the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and increase their knowledge, problem-solving ability and understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics applications.
