Service Credit Union Launches New Website Designed by Port City Web

The new website replaces the previous corporate website that has been in place for the past 6 years at www.ServiceCU.org .

Powering the new website is the Ektron Content Management System (CMS), which allows non-technical employees of Service Credit Union the ability to update and manage content on the website. Information such as new job listings can be added by personnel in the credit union's Human Resources department with the use of a standard Microsoft web browser and secure login. Through advanced security permissions, employees can be given access to modify content in very specific areas of the new website. This is expected to save the credit union money by reducing the dependency on highly technical staff just to manage content. It will also allow for content on the website to be updated more frequently by allowing more content editors access to their respective areas on the website.

Completely Redesigned

In addition to the Ektron CMS, Port City Web created a new, modern design for the Service Credit Union website. Extensive research and usability testing was put into the effort, as well as input from different areas within the credit union. The new website is also a re-branding of the credit union, and celebrates its 50th year servicing civilian and military members. Originally slated to be sent to a Boston-area ad agency for design, Port City Web provided Service Credit Union with some initial design compositions and immediately won the redesign project.
