Autism Treatment Center of America Collaborates With Northwestern University, Lancaster University on Scientific Research to Study The Son-Rise Program for Autism Treatment and Education
Market Wire, January, 2008
The Autism Treatment Center of America(TM) (ATCA) has embarked on a research program to begin scientific investigation of The Son-Rise ProgramĀ® for autism treatment and education. The ATCA is collaborating with research psychologists from Chicago's Northwestern University and UK-based Lancaster University.
The ATCA has begun clinical trials with experienced researchers to gather reliable data.
Raun K. Kaufman, CEO of the ATCA, spearheaded making this research program a reality. Mr. Kaufman is the original Son-Rise child, having himself recovered fully from autism through this program, which his parents developed to help him. He said, "Rigorous empirical scientific research of The Son-Rise Program is absolutely crucial. It's been a long time in coming, and I'm gratified to see that these valuable studies are now underway."
At this time, this research program consists of three strands:
1) Clinical trials involving children who are worked with for 5 days
by trained facilitators using The Son-Rise Program.
2) A long-term study involving hundreds of families currently
utilizing the program.
3) A retrospective study which looks back at families and children
who have already implemented the program.
