SFGate.com Launches New Online News Page
Market Wire, January, 2008
SFGate.com, the online home of the San Francisco Chronicle, launched a new page featuring News as part of the comprehensive redesign of its site.
"We are happy to announce the launch of the SFGate News section, home of our comprehensive news coverage from the bay to the world," said Peter Negulescu, Vice President/Digital Media. "The News page responds to feedback from readers who primarily want hard news, rather than the more diverse approach of the homepage, which also includes entertainment, sports and features. The section also contains several new pages requested by readers, including Bay Area & State, World, Nation and Environment. Several other pages, including Opinion, Politics, Health, Crime, Science, Education and Weird News, have been redesigned. You can find the pages from the homepage left rail and the News section top navigation."
"This is an important milestone in our redesign process," said Negelescu, "which includes a brighter design, larger headlines, easier access to multimedia features and top-of-the-page navigation.
"We're delighted by the initial responses from users thus far," said Negulescu. "We think our advertisers will be pleased with their new ad positions, and users will enjoy the focus and increased interactivity the page offers. Stay tuned for more updates."
