Windward EVP Continues Review of Application Performance Management Solutions in Information Week
Market Wire, January, 2008
Windward, the premier operational management consulting and systems engineering firm, today announced the publication of several recent reviews of application performance management (APM) solutions by Michael Biddick, EVP of solutions. In Windward's Real-Worlds Lab, Mr. Biddick has completed tests and published reviews of three solutions: BMC Proactivenet (found in January 21, 2008 issue of InformationWeek), Quest Foglight (December 3, 2007), and Nimsoft Nimbus (October 29, 2007).
These articles are part of the InformationWeek APM Rolling Review of leading software solutions and follows up on previous reviews of products from Indicative, NetQOS, NetIQ and Compuware. Tests in the Real-Worlds Lab will wrap up this current round of APM reviews with an upcoming article on Symantec i3.
The review of these APM solutions focuses on the breadth of support for enterprise applications, how well the products detect and report on performance problems, how well the architecture supports distributed application performance monitoring, and whether the software supports a tiered architecture with native high availability and failover capabilities. The tests also explore how seamlessly the software integrates with other IT operations tools.
