Yapta Named 2008 Consumer Product of the Year

Market Wire, February, 2008

Yapta, Inc. ( www.yapta.com ), an online travel shopping service that tracks airline ticket pricing for leisure and business travelers, today announced it was named the "2008 Consumer Product or Service of the Year" by the Washington Technology Industry Association in a ceremony last night.

Yapta was selected as the Consumer Product or Service of the Year for its innovative airfare tracking and alert service and the extraordinary value it delivers to online travel shoppers. Travelers utilizing Yapta can track airfare prices from most major airline websites and be alerted when the price on a specific flight drops. Since the launch of the service in May 2007, travelers have used Yapta to bookmark more than $200 million worth of flight itineraries and have been alerted to approximately $23 million in potential airfare savings.

"Being recognized as the Consumer Product or Service of the Year among the other outstanding finalist companies in our category, Redfin and Picnik, is a tremendous honor," said Tom Romary, CEO of Yapta. "We would like to thank the Washington Technology Industry Association for another stellar awards event, and salute all of the other winners and finalists who were part of the Industry Achievement Awards. We look forward to delivering massive value to travelers and making further contributions to the technology community in Washington state."

About Yapta, Inc.

Yapta, Inc. was founded in January 2006 with the mission to help leisure and business travelers receive the optimal value out of their online travel planning. Yapta's freeware enables travelers to bookmark their preferred flights while shopping airline websites and to be alerted when the best prices on those flights become available. Yapta is used by hundreds of thousands of travelers and many small businesses to not only obtain the best deals on airfare, but also to quickly and easily consolidate all preferred flights into a single, online list that reflects updated pricing. Bringing to light pro-consumer "guaranteed airfare" policies offered by many airlines, Yapta also helps air travelers obtain travel vouchers -- and in some cases, cash refunds -- when the price decreases on tickets that have already been purchased.
