Intersil Demonstrates Broad Range of New High-Performance Analog ICs at APEC
Market Wire, February, 2008
Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog semiconductors, announced that it will demonstrate more than a dozen of its newest industry-leading ICs at the APEC trade show (Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition), to be held this week in Austin, Texas.
This is the first public demonstration of several of the new Intersil chips. Demonstrations will cover a wide range of functions and applications, including power management ICs for computing and consumer devices, high-power LED drivers, voltage regulators, buck regulators, and PWM controllers.
Demonstrations will feature the following products:
-- Intersil's recently-announced power management IC for the Intel
Montevina platform, the ISL6266A. This new chip features Intersil's
patented R3 Technology(TM) (Robust Ripple Regulator), which commands
variable switching frequency during load transient events and provides the
fastest transient response of any comparable IC on the market.
-- A high efficiency, "Green" desktop motherboard, designed with numerous
high-efficiency and flexible Intersil voltage regulators, including the 6-
phase ISL6327 and ISL6609. This design automatically drops phases at light
load conditions for measurable power savings.
-- The ISL97801 high-power LED driver, which is capable of driving up to
eight 700mA HPLEDs and delivering 93% efficiency at 16V.
-- The recently introduced ISL944X family of triple sync Buck PWM and LDO
Controllers, which are designed to be extremely flexible, operating in a
wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 24V. These new ICs offer an
independent "digital enable" feature that allows designers to save power
and board space and delivers "green" power savings by offering the ability
to shut down device rails that are not in use.
