SFGate.com Launches New Home Page

www.SFGate.com , the online home of the San Francisco Chronicle, launched a new home page as part of a comprehensive redesign of its site.
"We are happy to unveil our new SFGate Home Page, the most visible piece of our site redesign effort. As you will see, we have made a lot of changes," said Peter Negulescu, Vice President/Digital Media. "This is an important milestone in our redesign process," said Negulescu, "which includes simpler, top-of-the-page navigation, easier access to multimedia features, and more search tools to help our readers find everything from cars to homes and restaurants to music events.
"We've also made it easier to find related content, such as your favorite columnists, blogs and podcasts.
"The new site is geared toward creating the best and most complete experience for our audience. Many of our improvements are based on feedback we've received from our users."
The Home page offers a diverse mix of breaking news, entertainment, sports and features. It is intended to serve as the primary gateway to SFGate's wide variety of content for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Several other sections, including News, Sports, Business, Technology, and Living, have also been redesigned, and can be found from the home page. SFGate.com continues to roll out new design across feature sections, including Travel, Entertainment, and Food & Wine.
