ENLASO (translate.com) Helps ITS Working Group Publish "Best Practices for XML Internationalization" Working Group Note
Market Wire, February, 2008
ENLASO Corporation, a leading provider of translation and localization solutions, today announced that the Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) Working Group, which is part of the W3C Internationalization Activity, recently published the Working Group Note titled "Best Practices for XML Internationalization."
The W3C Internationalization Activity works with W3C Working Groups and liaises with other organizations to make it possible to use Web technologies with different languages, scripts, and cultures.
Yves Savourel, ENLASO's Localization Solutions Architect, was actively involved on the W3C ITS Working Group to develop the document, which defines data categories and their implementation as a set of elements and attributes called the ITS. The elements and attributes are designed to provide support for internationalization and localization in XML documents and schemas ( http://www.w3.org/TR/its/ ).
Savourel notes, "This W3C Working Group Note should help developers of XML schemas, as well as authors of XML content, to create XML material that will be easier to localize. The best practices it outlines provide the means to significantly reduce the issues found in XML documents, and to streamline the localization process."
Since its inception, ENLASO participated on the ITS Working Group ( http://www.w3.org/International/its/ ) and contributed actively in the development of the standard. "ENLASO believes strongly in contributing to improvements in XML internationalization and localization. Our commitment to this effort through the participation of Yves Savourel in the working group helps not only ENLASO better serve our customers but also the localization efforts worldwide," says John Watkins, ENLASO's president and COO.
