Market Wire, March, 2008
JPB Enterprises, Inc. (JPBE), a Columbia, Maryland-based privately owned holding company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the DisplayWorks, LLC and Marketcraft LLC businesses of MICE, North America. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Previously, on December 31, 2007, JPBE announced an agreement to acquire both businesses, then subsidiaries of the U.K.-based MICE Group PLC.
From the design and fabrication of custom exhibits to the management of events around the world, retail fixture design to marketing communications, DisplayWorks has been delivering exceptional solutions that inspire positive reactions for more than 25 years. With offices in Irvine and San Francisco, CA, and Portland, OR, DisplayWorks delivers the highest levels of creativity and service for the trade show and retail fixture industries.
Marketcraft (Commercial Interiors business) located in Tempe, AZ creates extraordinary environments for real estate sales and discovery centers, museums, restaurants, clubhouses, recreational facilities and upscale resorts. The Company was recently awarded two Silver Awards and the Gold Award at the International Builders Show of the National Association of Home Builders for its work at South Lake Union in Seattle, WA and Mirabay in Tampa, FL.
"We're happy to welcome DisplayWorks' and Marketcraft's clients, partners, and employees to the JPBE family of businesses," said Jim Bolduc, JPBE Vice President. "And we're particularly excited to integrate these two businesses with our existing business investments in this space to further extend the power of our collective fabrication, design and creative services."
"DisplayWorks is excited to join JPBE and introduce our products and services to new audiences around the world," said Herb Hite, CEO, DisplayWorks. "We also look forward to working closely with the Commercial Interiors business, and other JPBE businesses in this space such as Triple E LLC in Cleveland, OH and Utility, Inc. in Seattle, WA to create new and innovative solutions for our clients."
Commenting on the closing, Claudia Gerster, Senior Vice President for the Commercial Interiors business, said, "We are pleased to become a part of such an innovative and creative company like JPBE. We knew they were the right partner for Marketcraft because of their ability to continue to invest in the business and provide the strongest platform for our employees and future growth."
The acquisition complements JPBE's current investments in the custom design and build of trade show exhibits and commercial environments. In 2006, JPBE acquired GO3E, LLC, the parent company of Exhibit Effects - East, LLC (dba Triple E), a leader in display fixture manufacturing, design, logistics and project management for the retail and trade show industries. In 2007, JPBE acquired Utility Inc., a Seattle-based full service provider of custom exhibits, point-of-purchase displays, retail and environmental solutions, brand development, and 2D & 3D design services.
