Market Wire, March, 2008
Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: NWK), a global provider of multi-service network and voice exchange solutions for enterprise and government customers, today announced that it has successfully deployed its VX1200 Voice Exchange together with partner Telindus France, to provide an innovative communication solution for surgeons, doctors, nurses, and emergency teams in the field, as well as for administration teams. The project required seamless interoperability within a multi-vendor, multi-protocol network. The VX1200 Voice Exchange was used to integrate a diverse infrastructure having a wide array of capabilities, including: Matra 6500 PBX, Cisco Call Manager Express with WiFi/SIP phones (SIP UDP), Microsoft® Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007, Polycom phones, and presence for SIP phones and softphones.
Telindus' customer, a French hospital and medical university, wanted a next generation network offering unified communications with tight integration of their existing voice systems and Microsoft® OCS 2007. The solution provided by NET and Telindus provides integrated telephony, collaboration tools, and presence information to enhance employee communications and productivity along with information security by way of encrypted data transactions. The solution in place can now grow with the hospital's communications needs.
"NET's commitment to provide excellent support and their extensive experience with voice networking were both important factors in our decision to use them for this deployment," said Alain Manet, Unified Communications Solutions Manager, Telindus.
"We are proud to have the VX1200 Voice Exchange selected as part of the unified communications network at the hospital," said François Le, Vice President, International at NET. "Partnering with Telindus, we were able to meet the stringent requirements of the customer. With Microsoft® OCS 2007, the hospital can continue to streamline IT administration and deliver advanced services to the community."
