INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES LIMITED Selects MediSolution's TD-Synergy Laboratory Information System and Virtuo Revenue Cycle Management Solution
Market Wire, March, 2008
MediSolution Ltd (TSX: MSH), a leading healthcare and public sector information technology company, today announced that INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES LTD., an independent medical laboratory, has selected MediSolution's automated TD-Synergy laboratory information system and Virtuo® Revenue Cycle Management solution. The contract is expected to be implemented over the next 6 months.
Specifically designed to increase operational efficiency and results reporting within reference laboratories, MediSolution's TD-Synergy laboratory information solution automates numerous functions, ranging from laboratory requests, to the production and communication of final test results. INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES will be implementing the TD-Synergy Core Laboratory module which will be used to manage all the Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology and Microbiology tests received and processed by the lab. The TD-Synergy solution will eventually be expanded to help INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES improve workflow within their specimen collection centres.
"We were very impressed with the flexibility, scalability and the comprehensive functionality in the TD-Synergy Laboratory Information System and the Virtuo Revenue Cycle Management solution," said Mack Tawfik, Chief Executive Officer of INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES "Coupled with their extensive reference laboratory experience, MediSolution was the ideal choice for us."
Virtuo Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is a robust solution specifically designed for laboratories wishing to streamline their billing process and improve their cash flow. INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES will leverage the Virtuo RCM application to initiate and manage all related billing and reconciliation activities. The system features a fully-customizable rules-based workflow engine which significantly reduces claim denial rates through a series of pre-billing edits that scrub claims for errors prior to submission. The workflow engine also speeds up claim submissions by facilitating the posting of electronic remittances, calculating expected reimbursements and automatically generating electronic claim inquiries.
"Our scalable, modular laboratory information system will streamline INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES' workflow and improve the day-to-day efficiency of their business," said Paul Lepage, president and chief executive officer at MediSolution. "We are delighted to have INTERCOUNTY LABORATORIES join our growing base of reference laboratory customers."
