Efecte Corporation Taps Terracotta to Provide Scalability for Flagship IT Operations Product Line
Market Wire, March, 2008
Terracotta, a leader in infrastructure software for enterprise Java scalability, today announced that Efecte Corporation, a leading provider of ERP for IT solutions, will integrate Terracotta's clustering solution into Efecte's packaged software products. Using Terracotta, Efecte can rapidly add new levels of scalability and high availability to its products without rewriting the underlying software code.
"We needed a solution for high-availability and horizontal scalability for our IT operations management software," said Kai Virkki, chief architect at Efecte. "Terracotta offers a state-of-the-art solution for enabling this in a non-intrusive way allowing us to cluster-enable our software faster than any other solution could. Great support for popular open source libraries and their very responsive technical support made product evaluation and development a breeze. We're confident that with Terracotta, we can answer and even exceed the demands of our customers."
Companies in numerous industries have discovered that Terracotta's JVM-level clustering technology creates a shared application memory pool that serves as the foundation of an ideal approach to scale critical applications since it offers the performance of local memory along with the high availability of a database. This capability eliminates the performance and reliability tradeoffs that constrain many Java applications today, and it can be deployed with little or no change to the application itself.
"To have Efecte, a leading software vendor with a worldwide market, integrate our technology into the products it sells to its own customers is quite an honor," said Amit Pandey, CEO of Terracotta. "To their credit, Efecte's engineering leaders recognized early on that with Terracotta as their infrastructure for scale-out, they could focus on their core strengths and continue to develop world class IT operations management software."
