Global Aero Logistics Announces Interim President, CEO

Global Aero Logistics Inc. announced today that Board Chairman John Denison will serve as the company's president and chief executive officer on an interim basis following the resignation of Subodh Karnik. The board has initiated a search for a new president and chief executive officer.
Denison has served as Chairman of Global's board of directors since January 2006. He joined Global as co-chief restructuring officer in January 2005. He served as president and chief executive officer of ATA, Inc. from February 2005 until December 2006. Denison joined Global following a three-year period of retirement from Southwest Airlines, where he served as executive vice president of Corporate Services and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Southwest, he served in corporate finance roles at the LTV Corporation and the Chrysler Corporation.
Denison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University.
Karnik was appointed as Global's president and CEO in January 2007, after serving as president and CEO at ATA. He joined ATA in June 2005 as chief commercial officer and subsequently became executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Global Aero Logistics, based in Peachtree City, Ga., is the parent company of ATA Airlines, North American Airlines and World Airways. The company has a combined fleet of 56 aircraft and more than 4,000 employees.
