IBM Receives Frost & Sullivan Award for Global Market Leadership
Market Wire, March, 2008
IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that it is the recipient of the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Leadership in the vulnerability assessment software market. IBM received this honor for its continued dominance of the global vulnerability assessment market, most notably with its flagship Proventia Network Enterprise Scanner product.
"IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) is the prolific founding vendor of the vulnerability assessment products industry," Frost & Sullivan noted. "Enterprise Scanner has been finding new traction in 2007 in less traditional vertical markets, such as retail and manufacturing, as well as more diversified geographic segments that include EMEA and APAC. IBM ISS' continued commitment to Enterprise Scanner and serving this market is also well illustrated by the collective enhancements for this product line in 2007."
With key market drivers including new regulations surrounding Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, Frost & Sullivan said it expects improvements such as deepened integration of Enterprise Scanner with IBM ISS' signature managed security services to enhance PCI compliance capabilities. New Windows scanning capabilities, additional asset grouping, improved ticketing, new CPE capabilities, and on-demand scanning are other enhancements that demonstrate IBM ISS' commitment to its customers.
"Vulnerability management is a critical competency for reducing operational risk," said Tom Stitt, Business Line Manager, Vulnerability Management, IBM ISS. "This prestigious honor from Frost & Sullivan demonstrates IBM ISS' continued commitment to Proventia Network Enterprise Scanner and the vulnerability management software marketplace."
