authorSTREAM Launches Tool to Let Users Share PowerPoint Presentations on YouTube, Blogs and Web Sites for Free
Market Wire, March, 2008
authorSTREAM , a place to share and discover presentations created with Microsoft PowerPoint software, enhanced its service by adding features that allow users to post presentations to any video-sharing platform, such as YouTube , and view on Apple® iPod® as well as other handheld devices.
"Business professionals, students, educators, trainers and other people create billions of presentations in PowerPoint format each year and then struggle to find an easy way to share their important content with others," said Harman Singh, chief executive officer, authorGEN Technologies, the company behind authorSTREAM. "We're giving millions of PowerPoint users a solution. They no longer have to send files, only post them to authorSTREAM.com to inspire, educate and persuade any audience, anywhere on the Web. There's no easier way to share presentations."
Without authorSTREAM, giving out PowerPoint slide shows on the Web can be cumbersome, requiring complicated viewing software, such as PowerPoint Viewer software. authorSTREAM makes it easy to communicate presentations to a worldwide audience without them having the PowerPoint software. Members of the free authorSTREAM community simply upload their PowerPoint files to receive an embed source code. They then can post that source code on a blog, Web site or any social media community, distributing their embedded presentations freely for viewing and downloading. Unlike other presentation-sharing software that distorts the slide show, authorSTREAM retains graphics as created, keeping animations and sounds.
With authorSTREAM, members can:
-- Upload PowerPoint files and keep rehearsed timings or audio narrations
in tact
-- Embed presentations in blogs or e-mail links to friends
-- Browse and discover interesting presentations uploaded by other
authorSTREAM members
-- Download presentations as podcasts for iPod / iTunes or as video files
-- Rate presentations or post comments
Any Web user can join the authorSTREAM community for free by registering at http://www.authorstream.com/Register/Register/Index .
